Zelensky Says He is Still Ready for Negotiations with Putin
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has declared that he is prepared for direct negotiations with Russian leader Vladimir Putin.
"I am steadfast, determined, and ready for direct talks with President Putin; we are prepared to seriously discuss the end of this war," Zelensky said in an interview with the British Financial Times.
At the same time, according to him, "it is not worth wasting time" discussing issues with Moscow that do not relate to the end of the conflict, including Ukraine's possible accession to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).
"If we are not in NATO, then there are no foreign state bases on our territory; if you want to accept us into NATO, then invite us, but at this moment we are not discussing that," added the Ukrainian president.
