What Will Lavrov and Cavusoglu Discuss During Their Meeting in Ankara
The foreign ministers of Russia and Turkey, Sergey Lavrov and Mevlut Cavusoglu, will discuss the state and prospects for the development of Russian-Turkish relations, as well as a number of pressing issues on the international and regional agenda during their meeting on June 8.
According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, the heads of the foreign affairs departments will coordinate the timeline of actions regarding the situations in Ukraine, the South Caucasus, the Middle East and North Africa, Central Asia, and the Black Sea region.
The ministers will exchange views on the situation regarding the Ukrainian crisis and the prospects for the resumption of Russian-Ukrainian peace negotiations. The Russian side will inform its Turkish counterparts about the course of the special military operation of the Russian Armed Forces in Ukraine and the measures taken to ensure the safety of the civilian population.
The ministers will also discuss the content of the next international meeting on Syria, which will take place in June this year in Nur-Sultan, and evaluate the results of the eighth session of the Inter-Syrian Constitutional Committee held in Geneva from May 28 to June 4.
