How many fighters are captured in Azovstal: Zelensky clarifies

More than 2,500 Ukrainian fighters are currently held in Russian captivity from Azovstal. The Ministry of Defense's main intelligence directorate is engaged in their release. This statement was made by Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky, as reported by RBK-Ukraina.

Zelensky emphasized that it is not in the Russian side's interest to apply "torture to the defenders of Azovstal, as they have become 'public prisoners'." The president also noted that he does not take seriously the statements made by Russian authorities and representatives of the so-called 'DPR' regarding the further fate of the fighters, as they are attempting to use this issue for their own propaganda.
