Food Poisoning in Byureghavan After Graduation Party, Several Hospitalized
On June 3, 2022, students from the main school of Byureghavan, along with their parents and teachers (a total of 65 people), celebrated a graduation event where they consumed barbecued pork and chicken drumsticks, vegetable salad with chicken breast and oil, as well as factory-produced juices.
On the following day, attendees reported to the Byureghavan City Polyclinic, from where they were referred to the R. Harutyunyan Abovyan Medical Center. This was reported by the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention.
Patients exhibited symptoms such as weakness, shivering, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, diarrhea, and severe abdominal pain. As of June 6 at 17:45, 14 patients have been hospitalized in the infectious disease department of the R. Harutyunyan Abovyan Medical Center.
The affected individuals are receiving relevant treatment, and their conditions are assessed to be of moderate severity. Laboratory samples have been taken from the patients for analysis, as well as water samples for testing.
Information about the incident has been provided to the food safety inspection authorities. Investigations are ongoing.
