Fell After Slipping and Breaking His Collarbone: Details About the Young Man Who Died at 'Hidden Waterfall'
On May 28, the young man who died at the 'Hidden Waterfall' in the Tavush region is Vahan Sulyan, a repatriate from the Syrian town of Kessab. He died while trying to save a friend who had slipped ahead of him, writes aravot.am.
Vahan Sulyan's body was laid to rest two days ago at the Shahumyan Cemetery in Yerevan. His parents were unable to attend their son's funeral; instead, his brother, relatives from Yerevan, and many friends were present.

Numerous searches and investigations in the area were futile, and his body was discovered only the next day, under the waterfall... Vahan received spiritual education in Aleppo but did not become a celibate priest. His love for his homeland brought him back to Armenia. He was an avid hiker, well-versed in every corner of his native nature, and had also traveled to Artsakh. He grew rapidly in this field and became a sought-after specialist in just a few years. He had already chosen an apartment in Yerevan to buy, and he had many bright plans. Recently, he bought a car and was eager to show it to his beloved girlfriend. They had driven together through the streets of Yerevan...
We are confident that this incident would not have occurred had the relevant authorities (such as the 'Hayantar' enterprise or the Ministry of Environment or environmental companies) done a little work and cordoned off the dangerous, flat area, or even placed a sign saying 'It is dangerous to approach the waterfall,' the newspaper writes.
