Deputy Foreign Minister Discusses Visa Liberalization with EU

During a joint session of the Standing Committees on European Integration and Financial and Budgetary Affairs of the National Assembly, MP Gevorg Papoyan posed a question to Deputy Foreign Minister Paruir Hovhannisyan regarding visa liberalization with the EU.

“This issue was raised during the Armenia-EU Partnership Committee meeting. The European side has assured that the European Commission seems willing to move forward, and the matter is within the purview of member states. Several member countries have recently held parliamentary and presidential elections, making it inappropriate to raise this topic during that period. However, we believe that more favorable conditions will be created from September onwards to advance the issue,” said the deputy minister. Hovhannisyan noted that this matter is always kept on the agenda.
