Armenia Files Second Interstate Complaint Against Azerbaijan
Armenia has filed a second interstate complaint against Azerbaijan at the European Court of Human Rights. This was announced on public air by Armenia's representative in international legal bodies, Yeghishe Kirakosyan.
“There is also an interstate complaint from our state against the same neighbor at the International Court of Justice in The Hague,” he said.
“Azerbaijan does not particularly stand out in fulfilling the decisions made by international courts,” noted Arman Khachatryan, Armenia's permanent representative to the Council of Europe.
In addition to the interstate complaint, many individual complaints have also been lodged by Armenian citizens to the ECHR, with several judgments confirming that Azerbaijan has violated international rights and norms. Such decisions are not only crucial for specific individuals but are also extremely necessary for the state to prove that ethnic hatred against Armenians is encouraged at the state level in Azerbaijan. This means that despite “humanitarian” declarations, Baku will not ensure the rights and security of Armenians when discussing its dream of seeing Artsakh as part of Azerbaijan.
