Vanetsyan on Opening Access to Government Employees

The government building is blockaded as we continue our action. This was stated by Arthur Vanetsyan, the leader of the "Honorary Have" faction in the National Assembly and president of the "Patriot" party, during a conversation with reporters today, June 3.

In response to a remark that the police might disperse the protest to open access for employees leaving the government building, Vanetsyan replied: "We are conducting a peaceful civil disobedience action. This peaceful disobedience is part of citizens' rights, and no one has the right to obstruct the holding of peaceful protests. The police, on the contrary, should ensure the safety of the participants in the action. I believe that the police will be prudent enough not to take such a step. The protest is being held and will continue."

It should be noted that today, the opposition factions "Armenia" and "Honorary Have" initiated an extraordinary session in the National Assembly with a draft statement regarding Armenian-Azerbaijani and Armenian-Turkish relations on the agenda, but the MPs from the ruling party did not attend the meeting and it was disrupted. After that, the opposition MPs returned to France Square, from where they marched to the government building and blockaded all the entrances.
