Opposition-initiated Extraordinary Session of Parliament Fails to Convene Due to Lack of Quorum
The extraordinary session of the Parliament, initiated by the opposition, did not convene due to a lack of necessary quorum.
The 4-hour registration period ended at 20:00. The President of the National Assembly, Alen Simonyan, announced in an empty hall: “Dear compatriots, the 4 hours have elapsed, and there are currently no MPs in the hall. There are also no opposition MPs, who were the initiators of this session. We can officially state that the session did not convene. Thank you, this session is concluded.”
It is noteworthy that on the agenda of the session was a draft statement authored by the “Armenia” and “I Have Honor” factions regarding the “Armenian-Azerbaijani and Armenian-Turkish Relations.”
