VIDEO: The Colonel Who Spent Most of His Life in the Mountains, How Will He Cover Housing Expenses? - Prime Minister

The government today approved a project that grants a state apartment to military personnel who have been admitted to and graduated from a military educational institution at the time of their service completion.

As Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced during the session, the military personnel can utilize the apartment as they wish—whether to live in it or rent it out—but they cannot sell it until they receive full ownership rights.

According to Pashinyan, a serviceman may receive an apartment in Yerevan, for example, while serving in Vanadzor. In such a case, he can rent out the apartment in Yerevan and rent a place for himself in Vanadzor.

“After 20 years of completing contractual service, the serviceman receives property rights, and the apartment becomes fully his property, which he can manage in any way. If, God forbid, there is a disability or if the serviceman loses his life, the apartment will be granted to the family as full property. This program will apply starting this year to cadets who have been admitted to military educational institutions,” Pashinyan concluded.
