“Obvious Corruption, Citizens Are Not Objects to Be Cheated and Fined.” Grigoryan Files a Complaint
Leader of the “Suspension” movement, businessman Samson Grigoryan’s statement:
“Filing a complaint about a crime. The picture shows a new generation cash register with a POS terminal function. Several years ago, the Tax Service forced all entrepreneurs to acquire this equipment. Everyone had to pay 100,000-150,000 for this cash register.
Now, at the request of the Central Bank, banks refuse to activate the POS terminal on these devices and require the purchase of other model devices that have been imported after the revolution. The ones imported during Gadik Khachaturyan’s time are practically rendered useless. I myself purchased three devices and spent 450,000 drams; now I have to throw them in the trash and spend another 450,000 drams to acquire three new ones.
The Government of Armenia, the Special Investigative Service of Armenia, the Anti-Corruption Committee of Armenia, the Prosecutor General’s Office of Armenia—this is obvious corruption, an evident deceit against all entrepreneurs in Armenia.
The “Suspension” Civil Movement urges an urgent resolution of this issue by replacing the cash registers of entrepreneurs free of charge. Otherwise, acts of disobedience will be carried out, widespread protests regarding the cashless law will take place, and there will be a significant influx of lawsuits. Armenian citizens and entrepreneurs are not objects to be cheated and fined.”
Auroranews.am reached out to the Tax Service for clarification on the topic, where they indicated they would review the statement and respond if necessary.
