Accused in the 'Gyumri Elders' Case to Remain in Custody
The Shirak Regional Court, presided over by Judge Roman Smbatyan, has upheld the decision to keep the accused in the 'Gyumri Elders' case—Taron Manukyan, Arsen Martoyan, Gor Matevosyan, Gor Sargsyan, and Gevorg Muradyan—in custody.
It is notable that a rally was held in Gyumri on May 8, initiated by opposition figures. On the same day, an incident occurred at a public transport stop on Yeravanian Avenue in Gyumri.
Specifically, elderly men, aged 74, 56, 72, and 84, reportedly shouted insults at young members of the Dashnaktsutyun party and threw eggs at them, which led to a confrontation. A criminal case has been initiated in connection with the incident, and the elderly men have been recognized as victims.
