EU Confirms Sixth Sanctions Package Against Russia

During a meeting held in Luxembourg, EU ambassadors have approved the sixth sanctions package against the Russian Federation, which includes restrictions on companies in the oil and banking sectors, as well as on media operations.

According to TASS, this was announced by a source from the Council of the European Union on June 2, stating that the sixth package will come into effect after being published in the official EU journal, which is tentatively scheduled for May 3.

In particular, it includes a ban on the maritime transport of Russian oil, which, in conjunction with individual measures from Poland and Germany, will reduce purchases by 92% by the end of the year. Furthermore, a ban is imposed on providing services to Russian oil companies.
