We Have Stolen Our Children's Childhood and Adolescence; Now We Must Restore It: Nazaryan
I want a healthy homeland, where the mind and spirit of a person are healthy, where there is no malice, deceit, or betrayal, where children are protected by a good and strong state, and where after the last school bell, children go on to study, whether in the armed forces or in universities, instead of being taken to treacherous wars.
This was stated today, June 1, at France Square during a conversation with journalists by Gegham Nazaryan, a member of the National Assembly from the 'Armenia' faction, whose son Abgar died in the 44-day war.
“I will do everything possible to ensure that no 18-year-old child is lost in treacherous wars again. We must have a visible future with a population of 5 million, with at least 3 children in every family. I want children to be not only physically healthy but also sound in spirit and mind. We have done a terrible thing; we have stolen our children's childhood and adolescence, and now we must restore it. I pray to God to grant such a homeland to our children,” he said.
Gegham Nazaryan emphasized that we must have a dignified state where children walk with their heads held high, love our flag and cities like Stepanakert, Yerevan, Hadrut, and Ijevan: “Let our children love our cities, let them run around in Shushi, and that will happen.”
