Relatives of Fallen Soldiers Gathered at the Investigative Committee
Relatives of soldiers who fell during the 44-day war have gathered in front of the Investigative Committee.
“Five days ago, we submitted a request to Argishti Kyaramyan to come down and answer us regarding the disqualification. Let him come down, we have questions to ask him,” said one of the parents.
It is noteworthy that recently, parents of soldiers who fell during the 44-day war came to the Main Military Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee demanding the arrest of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. They had recently received the status of victim's legal successor in connection with a criminal case regarding the deaths of the recently fallen soldiers. After being interrogated in relation to the criminal case, the legal successors learned that their request for arresting Nikol Pashinyan was rejected by the military prosecutor's office, and the resolution of the requests to involve him as a defendant and summon him for questioning was postponed.
This decision outraged the parents, and the situation inside the committee escalated to the point where, according to the parents, they were subjected to offensive remarks and insults by the staff. Following this, the court decided to conduct the review of the appeal regarding Nikol Pashinyan’s demand to initiate a criminal case on the grounds of state treason behind closed doors in the Court of Appeal.
This decision has angered the relatives of the fallen soldiers. They demand that the trial continue in an open manner, allowing both the parents and journalists to participate in the sessions, while also ensuring that these sessions are accessible to the public.
