Court to Examine Complaint Against Pashinyan's Criminal Case in Open Session: Karin Tonoyan
The examination of the complaint demanding the initiation of a criminal case against Nikol Pashinyan for allegedly committing state treason and abusing his official powers will henceforth continue in an open session, as stated by Karin Tonoyan, the mother of fallen hero Menua Hovhannisyan from the 44-day war.
It is recalled that the Court of Appeal had decided to review the complaint against Nikol Pashinyan under the article of state treason in a closed session. The lawyer Hakob Martirosyan, who filed the complaint, and the member of the 'Armenia' faction, Artsvik Minasyan, had requested that the examination be conducted in an open session. However, the court postponed the session without expressing any position after hearing the request.
During this time, the parents of the fallen soldiers gathered in the court's yard, hoping that the court would today grant the complaintants' request. The decision to delay the review of the complaint frustrated the parents, who then went to the Supreme Judicial Council to meet with acting Chairman Gagik Jhangiryan. Responding to the parents’ grievances, Jhangiryan mentioned that the issue would be resolved.
