VIDEO: $200,000 Worth of Drugs Discovered in HayPost Exchange Center
The officials from the State Revenue Committee's Anti-Smuggling Department and the Western Customs Administration have jointly conducted a customs inspection, followed by a search, at the "HayPost" company's exchange center for two international shipments destined for Australia, as reported by the SRC.
During the inspection of the international mail shipments sent from the Republic of Armenia under the name of a citizen of the Islamic Republic of Iran, a silver foil was discovered in each package. Following cutting and breaking techniques applied with special tools, a total of 3.68 kg of opioid-type drugs was uncovered, with a market value exceeding $200,000.
A criminal case has been initiated under Article 267.1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia, which pertains to the violation of rules regarding the production, acquisition, storage, registration, release, transportation, or delivery of drugs or psychoactive substances, as well as materials, equipment, or tools used for their preparation. An investigation is currently underway.
