The West Wants to Reach an Agreement with Putin at the Expense of Ukrainian Territories Rather Than Bring Russia to Its Knees, Analyst Says

Political analyst Suren Surenyants stated:

“The Ukrainian drama is entering a certain phase, where the West prioritizes salvaging Putin's image and negotiating with him at the expense of Ukrainian territories, rather than the policy of bringing Russia to its knees. For instance, the United States is refusing to provide Ukraine with missiles that could target Russian territories, and the EU's sixth package of sanctions scarcely affects Russian energy, particularly oil interests. These facts indicate that Western capitals are inclined to somehow negotiate with Putin.”
