Foreigners Interested in Armenian Real Estate: Which Countries Are Buying Property Here?

Armenian real estate continues to attract foreigners. This is reported by Sputnik Armenia, citing data published by the State Committee of Real Estate Cadastre of Armenia.

According to the data, out of 16,644 real estate transactions registered in Armenia in April 2022, 430 were made by foreign citizens. In that same April, foreigners purchased 165 real estate properties in Armenia while selling 285.

Moreover, in 20 registered transactions, both the buyer and the seller were foreign nationals. According to official statistics, Russian citizens rank first among the foreigners interested in real estate in Armenia, accounting for 303 out of the 430 transactions. Citizens of European countries come second with 62 transactions, followed by American citizens with 41 transactions. Citizens from other CIS member states signed a total of 23 transactions in April.

Furthermore, 64% of these transactions involved properties located within Yerevan, 12.7% in the Kotayk region, 6.7% in Armavir, 3.6% in Aragatsotn, and 3% in Lori. The least transactions were recorded in Gegharkunik region, with only 0.6% or 8 transactions.

For comparison, in January 2022, foreigners made 295 transactions, 341 in February, and 424 in March.
