The Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs are exploring ways to sever scientific ties with the United States. This was reported by Izvestia.

The agencies are jointly analyzing the legal framework of agreements in the fields of science and education between the two countries "for the purpose of termination or suspension." It is noted that this information became known from the government's response to a query from Sergey Obukhov, a deputy of the Communist Party of Russia.

The Ministry of Education and Science confirmed that work is underway on this issue, but the documents remain classified.
