Foreigner Attempts Suicide, Throws $6000 from Balcony

On May 29 at 18:51, a call was received by the National Crisis Management Center reporting a gas leak from one of the apartments in building 4/3 on Arami Street in Yerevan. Emergency responders from the Ministry of Emergency Situations' rescue department dispatched one combat unit, along with an operational group from the National Crisis Management Center and a duty psychologist from the Psychological Support Division.

It was determined that there was no gas leak at the specified address; however, the citizen was attempting to commit suicide by jumping from the balcony on the eighth floor.

At 20:44, the suicide attempt of M. Ch., a citizen of the Republic of Poland (born in 1992), was successfully prevented. It should be noted that earlier Shamshyan.com reported that a foreigner was threatening to jump from the eighth floor in downtown Yerevan. While the ministry's employees and patrol officers were at the scene, the citizen threw US dollars towards bystanders from the balcony. According to the website's data, approximately $6000 was thrown.
