Dutch Withdrawal from Russian Gas Will Not Affect Households, Climate Minister
The Climate and Energy Minister of the Netherlands, Rob Jetten, has announced that the Dutch government understands the decision of the energy company GasTerra not to pay for Russian gas in rubles, and this will not have any impact on household gas supplies. This was reported by RIA Novosti.
“The cabinet understands GasTerra’s decision to refuse the payment demands unilaterally set by Gazprom. This decision has no consequences for the gas supply of Dutch households,” Jetten said.
He added that GasTerra had purchased additional gas before making this decision. The minister asserts that due to these actions, there should be no consequences for Dutch businesses regarding gas supplies.
Previously, the Dutch GasTerra gas trading company decided not to meet Gazprom’s requirements for payments in Russian rubles for gas supplies.
