Iran Calls on Turkey to Respect Syria's Territorial Integrity
The Iranian Foreign Ministry's spokesman, Saeed Khatibzadeh, has urged Turkey to resolve its security issues through dialogue and adherence to the Astana process, while respecting Syria's territorial integrity and refraining from the use of military force against its neighbors, reports Tasnim.
Responding to questions regarding possible Turkish military operations along the borders with Syria and Iraq, Khatibzadeh stated that Iran opposes any use of force to resolve disputes in the territories of other countries.
He emphasized that Tehran views such military actions as violations of the territorial integrity and sovereignty of those countries, asserting that they would only complicate the situation and escalate tensions.
Khatibzadeh further added that Iran understands Turkey's concerns in the realm of security but believes that the only pathway to resolving these issues is through dialogue and mutual respect in bilateral relations.
