VIDEO: “In the Distance is Ararat, but Next to Yerevan are Burning Garbage Hills,” Lapshin

Russian-Jewish blogger Alexander Lapshin, who has settled in Armenia, posted a video on his Facebook page, writing: “Terrible piles of burning garbage are just a five-minute drive from the residential areas of Yerevan. This is not even the Nubarashen dump (where the situation is worse), it’s still a few kilometers away. People, this is not normal! I accidentally drove there, following the navigator, and I was suffocated by the unbearable stench of burning garbage hills. But there are many nearby residential areas where there’s also an extremely unpleasant toxic smell. Why then should we be surprised that so many people are constantly coughing, getting sick, and why there is such a high rate of cancer?”
