Protests to Begin Tomorrow at 10:30 AM: Opposition Plans Revealed

Protests will begin tomorrow at 10:30 AM, as announced today by Ishkhan Saghatelyan.

He noted that the participants of the protest will march from France Square to the Constitutional Court in solidarity with the parents of fallen servicemen, while at 3:30 PM, special operations will be carried out to welcome a delegation from Montenegro, demonstrating that the current authorities in Armenia no longer have the mandate to represent the Armenian people.

Saghatelyan addressed the day's events and also spoke about Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's remarks during a Q&A session in the National Assembly.

The opposition leader presented a draft statement from the National Assembly, which is set to be introduced at an extraordinary session convened at the behest of the opposition factions.

“Based on the Declaration of Independence of the Republic of Armenia, the Constitution of the Republic of Armenia, the results of the December 10, 1991 referendum of the people of Nagorno-Karabakh, and the principles of international law, as well as the fundamental principles repeatedly presented by the co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group regarding the resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, we declare:

  1. The Republic of Armenia will support the full realization of the right of the people of Nagorno-Karabakh to self-determination and the international recognition of the Republic of Nagorno-Karabakh. Any final resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict that could result in Nagorno-Karabakh being part of Azerbaijan is unacceptable for the Republic of Armenia.
  2. A reliable land connection must be ensured between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Artsakh, excluding the enclave status.
  3. The Republic of Armenia is the guarantor of the security and the right of self-determination of the people of Artsakh, in all its components.
  4. Border delineation and demarcation works with the Republic of Armenia must be carried out based on the preconditions of resolving humanitarian issues, the return of Armenian prisoners of war and detained individuals, and the withdrawal of Azerbaijani troops from the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia.
  5. The border delineation and demarcation works with Azerbaijan should exclude any disruption to the territorial integrity of the Republic of Armenia.
  6. In the process of normalizing relations with Turkey, the Republic of Armenia excludes any agreement that would call into question the deportation and genocide of the Armenian people, as well as the right to be the bearer of the spiritual and cultural heritage of the Armenian people.
  7. The processes of normalization of relations with Turkey and Azerbaijan are interrelated. The unblocking of communications with Azerbaijan and Turkey cannot be based on a corridor logic.
