European Union Reaches Agreement on Common Gas Storage Regulation

EU member states' ambassadors have reached a preliminary agreement on the common regulation for gas storage. This was announced on Twitter by the French Presidency of the EU. According to Izvestia, the Committee of Permanent Representatives of the European Union has agreed to the preliminary political agreement on gas storage regulation reached with the European Parliament. This is an important step towards improving supply security.

Earlier, it was reported that the volume of gas supplied to Germany through Ukraine has decreased by nearly 25% daily, being compensated by supplies from Norway and the Netherlands. At the same time, Gazprom has stated that Kyiv has permitted only one entry point for the transit of Russian gas to Europe, which will significantly reduce the reliability of gas supplies.
