Charges Filed Against Former President of Moldova

The prosecutor's office of Moldova has filed charges against former president Igor Dodon, who has been arrested, on four counts including corruption and treason, reported his lawyer Maxim Lebedinski to TASS.

“Prosecutors have charged Dodon on four counts specified in the protocol of his arrest. Tomorrow they will apply to the court for a 30-day detention request,” said Lebedinski.

He reminded that the prosecutors, who interrogated Dodon today, suspect him of committing crimes under Article 324 ("passive corruption"), Article 1812 ("recognizing a political party as a criminal organization"), Article 337 ("treason"), and Article 330/2 ("unlawful enrichment").
