African and Middle Eastern Countries to Trade with Russia in Rubles
Many partners of Russia in Africa and the Middle East will switch to trading in the Russian national currency. This was reported by RT, citing Mikhail Bogdanov, special representative of the President of the Russian Federation for the Middle East and Africa and Deputy Foreign Minister.
“I think this is a very promising direction. Many partners (in Africa and the Middle East) will move in this direction in the near future. We are speaking with many. I can say that we will work in this direction with our Syrian partners. I believe we will do so with certain partners in Africa as well,” said Bogdanov.
Russia has been negotiating with partners in Asia and Africa for over a year regarding the transition to rubles in trade settlements.
