Arman Tatoyan: Armenia's Security is Being Undermined and There are No Guarantees

In today’s statement, the natural right of the indigenous people of Artsakh to self-determination and the genocidal policies of Azerbaijan towards Artsakh are absolutely ignored. This was stated by former Human Rights Defender of Armenia, Arman Tatoyan.

“Armenia's security is being undermined, and there are no guarantees. But what is happening is also a consequence of the fact that the Armenian authorities have systematically zeroed out our fundamental historical theses, starting from the assertion that Azerbaijan's territorial integrity is not connected to Artsakh. They have justified or legitimized the illegal Azerbaijani military deployments in Gegharkunik and Syunik, conceding our territorial jurisdiction. In Syunik, roads are being constructed in a way that puts them under Azerbaijani target acquisition. They have concealed and continue to conceal the facts of Azerbaijani crimes from the external world, the internal public, and the diaspora. In order to cover up their own mistakes and avoid creating dissatisfaction, widespread pressures are being exerted on all those who voice these facts.

They have tied our state's hands regarding international mechanisms, turning the country into a victim of geopolitical interests. All this has further freed Azerbaijan's hands to fill the world with falsehoods. They have dulled and continue to dull people's vigilance,” he wrote.
