VIDEO: We Want a Judicial System in Armenia That Looks People in the Eyes, Not Their Hands - Prime Minister

The government has approved draft amendments to the laws on "Remuneration of Persons Holding Public Positions and Public Service Positions" and on "Provision of Activities, Services, and Social Guarantees for Public Officials." It is expected that an additional salary of 80% will be established for the judge, vice president, and president of the Constitutional Court, while additional pay for judges of the Court of Cassation (including the president and chamber president) will be set at 50% of their official salary scale.

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated that they want a judicial system in Armenia that, conditionally speaking, looks people in the eyes, not their hands. “A lot of significant chain processes are taking place; they affect the social and moral state of people. We must consistently go down this path,” he said. The Prime Minister emphasized that they are pursuing this path because they want a genuinely independent judicial system in Armenia, and it is not just a formality or a political slogan.
