UN Does Not Comment on Italy's Proposed Peace Plan for Ukraine
The spokesperson for the UN Secretary-General, Stéphane Dujarric, has stated that the organization has seen reports regarding Italy's proposal for a peaceful resolution to the situation in Ukraine, according to TASS.
“I have no comment,” said the UN representative.
Earlier, the newspaper La Repubblica reported that Italy had submitted a phased peace plan for resolving the conflict in Ukraine to the UN. The plan envisages achieving a temporary ceasefire and continuing negotiations in the first phase, and in the second phase, starting international negotiations concerning Ukraine's status, which includes neutrality with security guarantees and unhindered access to the EU.
