VIDEO: 'What Are You Hitting For?' Tense Situation in Front of 'Closed Market'
Participants of the civil disobedience action have blocked Mashtots Avenue with trash bins early in the morning, paralyzing traffic. Police began to forcibly detain protesters, pulling them aside. One participant asked a police officer, 'What are you hitting for?' A woman also pointed out that they seem to have forgotten how many children have been killed at the border. 'Go and imprison Nikol,' she shouted.
A protester yelled, 'Come on, break my hand, break my side, let me go, I'm coming!' The protesters started chanting, 'Armenia without Turks.' Police removed the trash bins from the street, and shortly thereafter, the special forces arrived and joined other officers to clear the traffic.
It should be noted that the 'Resistance' movement resumed civil disobedience actions early in the morning, demanding Nikol Pashinyan's resignation. They have blocked roads in various parts of Yerevan, and the road from Mashtots Avenue to the airport is currently closed. The police are attempting to restore traffic, and there have been numerous detentions.
