Eurovision Organizers Accused of Altering Voting Results

Eurovision Organizers Accused of Altering Voting Results

The delegations from Georgia, Azerbaijan, and Romania have accused the organizers of Eurovision 2022 of altering their scores. This was reported by the portal "Novosti-Georgia."

According to the summary table presented by the competition organizers, the highest score (12 points) from the Georgian jury was awarded to the United Kingdom, which secured second place, while Ukraine received 6 points. The Georgian public broadcaster emphasizes that they awarded the Ukrainian performers 12 points.

A similar issue arose with the Azerbaijani jury, which also awarded the highest points to Ukraine, but the points were counted in favor of the United Kingdom. Meanwhile, the Romanian representatives gave the maximum score to Moldova, yet their points were allocated to Ukraine. As a result of the organizers' alterations, Moldova received no points from Romania.

It is noted that prior to the announcement of the voting results, the European Broadcasting Union removed the jury from six countries based on a "voting error scheme."

In Eurovision 2022, the Ukrainian group Kalush Orchestra took first place, followed by representatives from the United Kingdom and Spain in second and third place, respectively.
