Current Situation in the Agavno Community

What is the situation in the Agavno community of Berdzor? ‘Hraparak’ contacted the village mayor, Andranik Chavushyan, to clarify the circumstances in the village.

According to the mayor, although the situation in Armenia and Artsakh is extremely concerning, the people in Agavno are determined. The village has over 200 residents, none of whom are willing to leave their native land.

The mayor claims that there has always been concern among the residents; however, the issue of evacuation has not been raised at this time. In response to our question about whether there are discussions about evacuating the village before August 5, he stated: “We do not intend to evacuate either before the 5th or the 15th.”
