Turkey Faces NATO Isolation Threat If It Blocks Finland and Sweden's Membership
The leader of the European People's Party, a prominent group in the European Parliament, has threatened Turkey with isolation within NATO if it blocks Finland and Sweden's entry into the alliance.
Earlier, Turkey's Foreign Minister Cavusoglu stated that "the Turkish people are asking their government to block Finland and Sweden's entry into NATO, and Ankara is ready to discuss it with allies." Turkey's position has already raised concerns among NATO partner countries.
The U.S. State Department has announced that it is working to clarify Turkey's stance.
