Search Operations Continue for Two Citizens Missing on Lake Sevan

On May 15, at 06:02, a specialized rescue team along with an operational group from the Ministry of Emergency Situations headed to the site on Lake Sevan to resume search operations. The search efforts resumed at 07:44.

It is noteworthy that on May 6, at 18:16, the Gegharkunik regional crisis management center received a call stating that two citizens had set out on a boat from the coastal area near the villages of Vardenik and Zolakar and had not returned.

From May 6 to May 14, search operations were carried out, involving a rescue team from the special rescue operations center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, equipped with a motorboat, along with 8 civilian and 11 rescue motorboats, two operational groups from the regional rescue department, one combat unit from the special water rescue squad, and an operational team from the fire-rescue unit. A total of 53 rescuers and 12 lifeguards participated, employing 7 watercraft and two drones for aerial and aquatic reconnaissance.

On-site were the Minister of Emergency Situations Armen Pambukhchyan, Head of the Emergency Situations Service Col. Armen Gasparyan, and Deputy Director of the Emergency Situations Service Col. Tigran Petrosyan. Unfortunately, the search operations concluded without results.
