VIDEO: Details on the gunshots heard in Yerevan yesterday

The Investigative Committee of Armenia has initiated a criminal case under points 1 and 6 of part 2 of Article 34-104 and part 1 of Article 235 of the Criminal Code in the Shengavit administrative district of Yerevan. This case is being investigated to clarify the circumstances of the incident that occurred on Artashat Highway in Yerevan.

According to preliminary data, on May 11, 2022, around 5:25 PM, an individual, allegedly committing a criminal act, intentionally fired shots at two citizens with the intention of unlawfully taking the lives of two or more persons in a manner dangerous to many lives. However, due to circumstances beyond his control, the crime was not completed as the individuals were transported to a medical center and received appropriate medical assistance.

As a result of urgent measures taken, several circumstances of the incident have been clarified, including the identity of the individual who allegedly committed the crime, a resident of Yerevan born in 1988. The preliminary investigation is underway. Efforts are being made to locate him, present him to the prosecuting authority, and ensure an objective and comprehensive examination of the case.
