Ukraine Deserves Everything: Zelensky Provides Details

Ukrainian membership in the European Union will only strengthen the EU. This was stated by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky during a conversation with students from leading French universities.

Zelensky commented on French President Emmanuel Macron's remarks regarding the prospects of Ukraine's EU membership. “As I understood it, he meant that Ukraine deserves a candidacy, but for membership, we need to wait. I think the term ‘deserves’ is incorrect because Ukraine has deserved everything for a long time. There should be a dual desire: Ukraine wanting to be part of the EU, and the EU countries wanting to see Ukraine in their family,” said the President.

According to Zelensky, this only strengthens other countries. “Our army has demonstrated what it is capable of. People, I think, have shown; I believe you recognize that they are all kind, very educated, very good. It is impossible to keep Ukrainian society at a constant distance—to take it to the EU or not to take it,” the President added.
