A Wanted Notice Issued for the Son of MP Sergey Bagratyan from the ‘My Step’ Faction

The Sevan Police Department has issued a wanted notice for 27-year-old Shant Bagratyan, a resident of Yerevan. According to shamshyan.com, the notice was issued under Article 243, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of Armenia, which pertains to operating a vehicle by an individual deprived of the right to drive or whose driving rights have been suspended.

According to reports, Sh. Bagratyan is the son of MP Sergey Bagratyan from the ‘My Step’ faction. Earlier, media sources reported that on April 18, the senior investigator of the Investigative Committee of Vayots Dzor region decided to impose a measure to prevent him from leaving the country.

Sh. Bagratyan was previously released from the Vayots Dzor regional investigative department. He is suspected of attacking and causing bodily harm to 45-year-old Vahe Asatryan, the director of a gas station in the Vayots Dzor region. Reports indicate that after his arrest, Bagratyan's lawyer filed a motion claiming the arrest was unlawful. However, the court ruled that the arrest was legal and denied the lawyer’s motion. Just hours later, the investigator decided to release the MP’s son.
