Everything I warned about has happened this year: Arman Tatoyan

Former Human Rights Defender of Armenia, Arman Tatoyan, has published his concluding speech from the National Assembly last year along with a commentary:

“Everything I warned about has happened this year: Senior officials of the Republic of Armenia have justified and legalized illegal Azerbaijani military deployments near our villages and roads, and have made and continue to make official statements conceding Armenia’s territorial sovereignty to Azerbaijan. These statements must be stripped of legitimacy and cannot serve as a basis for the protection of our people's interests, as at least:

1. They have been made for narrow political or personal interests to avoid dissatisfaction towards themselves or to cover up their own mistakes. They lack professional grounds.
2. They undermine Armenia’s security system, creating real dangers to the life and other vital rights of the people of Armenia and Artsakh.
3. They hinder the protection of the interests of Armenia and Artsakh in the international arena.

It is systematically ignored that in the Azerbaijani state doctrine, a significant part of Armenia is considered a “historic Azerbaijani territory” and that a policy of hatred approaching fascism, as well as ethnic and religious enmity, is being pursued against us. In the context of indivisibility, war crimes continue.
