Attempted Terrorist Attack Against Russian Journalists Averted in Berlin
An attempted terrorist attack against Russian journalists and their families has been averted in Berlin. This information was reported by RIA Novosti.
According to the Russian Embassy in Germany, on May 6, in the afternoon, a bottle was thrown from the street, shattering the window of one of the apartments where media employees were located. During the inspection of the apartment, a suspicious object was discovered, consisting of a large container filled with liquid, a plastic bottle, and a gas cylinder, to which metal wires were attached with tape.
“German law enforcement quickly evacuated the residents, called the fire department and bomb disposal units. The latter confirmed that the item was presumably a homemade explosive,” the statement read.
Following this incident, diplomats sent a note to the German Foreign Ministry demanding a thorough investigation. The Berlin police informed RIA Novosti that an investigation is already underway, with the involvement of the prosecutor's office and the state security department.
