Suspect in Kanakertsi Tuy's Murder Found

On May 3, based on operational information received at the Criminal Police Department of the Republic of Armenia, a special operation was conducted in the capital.

According to shamshyan.com, after confirming the reliability of the operational data, employees of the Criminal Police Department discovered and apprehended 31-year-old Arsen Aleksanyan, a resident of Gegharkunik Province, near one of the houses in the 1st Summer House area of Yerevan.

According to the website's information, Aleksanyan was wanted in connection with the murder case of well-known criminal figure Kanakertsi Tuy, with an investigation ongoing by the Kanakert-Zeytun division of the police.

A criminal case had been initiated against him by the investigative unit of the Investigative Committee of Armenia, citing Article 104, Part 2, Points 1 and 7, and Article 235, Part 2 of the Criminal Code of Armenia. Months ago, the court had selected arrest as a measure of restraint against him.

The investigator had submitted a petition for Aleksanyan's arrest, which was granted by the court.

He was presented to the investigative authority yesterday, and today the investigator is set to submit a petition to the Yerevan City Court of General Jurisdiction to reaffirm the detention order.
