VIDEO: Armenian Trucks Deliberately Held in Lars for Weeks—Alert from Driver in Lars
Armenian trucks are being deliberately held in Lars for weeks. This was reported on Facebook by former MP of the Prosperous Armenia Party, Naira Zohrabyan.
“The road to Lars is open and, naturally, passable; however, Armenian freight trucks have been held at the outskirts of Tbilisi for weeks, and as the drivers have just informed me, they are not allowed to cross the border into Lars. The trucks have been stuck in Lars for 45 days since coming from Russia, and now the same trucks have been parked in a field near Tbilisi for 10 days and cannot reach Russia. My driver acquaintances noted that the Georgian side treats Russian and Belarusian trucks in the same manner as well. When asked how much longer they will keep us, the answer is short: ‘As long as we want.’ By the way, if previously the whole journey from Moscow to Yerevan and back took only 6 days, now it takes almost two months. Oh, and let me not forget to mention that over the past month and a half, the cost for transporting one truck in one direction has jumped from $2,800 to $4,500.
Soon it will be time to deliver apricots and other agricultural produce to the Russian market. And let’s not even imagine what will happen to the farmer's apricots, which they should sell to pay off their loans, after 60 days. Now I ask the Deputy Prime Minister and Ministers of Economic Bloc—who on earth are you and what are you for?” Zohrabyan wrote.
Auroranews contacted one of the drivers in Lars, who reported that there has been a long line of trucks with no movement, and day by day survival is becoming more difficult.
