Person Who Committed Violence Against Director of 'Antares' Publishing House Detained
In the framework of the criminal case being investigated by the Investigative Committee of Armenia's Yerevan city investigation department for serious crimes, factual data has emerged regarding an incident that took place on April 27, 2022, at around 20:40 in Yerevan. During a gathering that occurred in the city, a group of participants, disregarding the proper conduct and the requests made by police officers to maintain public order, engaged in a protest action while highlighting their own personal advantages and showing blatant disrespect towards society.
Moreover, one of them, a 42-year-old resident of Yerevan identified as A.Kh., committed violence against the director of 'Antares' Publishing House using an object that was utilized as a weapon. The Investigative Committee reports this incident.
In connection with this criminal case, a decision has been made to engage A.Kh. as an accused under Part 4 of Article 258 of the Armenian Criminal Code for committing this publicly dangerous act. He has been detained.
The pre-investigation continues. Measures are being taken to clarify all circumstances of the event, identify other involved individuals, individualize their actions, and take appropriate measures against them as well.
Note: A person suspected of or charged with a crime is considered innocent until proven guilty under the procedure established by the criminal procedural code of Armenia through a court decision that has entered into legal force.
