Colleague Arrested in Connection with the Death of a Conscription Soldier

The National Investigative Committee of Armenia has reported that the circumstances surrounding the death of conscript soldier Samvel Sedraki Sanyan have been clarified within the framework of the criminal case being investigated under Part 3 of Article 373 of the RA Criminal Code in the 9th military investigative department.

As previously mentioned, on April 28, 2022, around 19:20, Samvel Sanyan sustained a fatal gunshot wound due to a violation of the rules of firearm use by a conscript soldier at a combat position in the RA Ministry of Defense's military unit No. N.

On April 29, 2022, a fellow serviceman was arrested on suspicion of causing death by negligence due to breaches of firearm handling regulations. An investigation is underway.
