Meeting of Trilateral Working Group on Nagorno-Karabakh Issue to Take Place, Zakharova

A meeting of the trilateral working group on the Nagorno-Karabakh issue will take place soon, co-chaired by the Deputy Prime Ministers of Russia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan, while contacts are also planned to take place in Baku through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs by the end of this week. This was announced by Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

“The high diplomatic activity of the American and French co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group, Andrew Schoffer and Brice Roquefort, effectively paralyzed the previously well-coordinated work of the three co-chairs, who refused to cooperate with Russia within the framework of this organization. We recorded the shameless attempts from Brussels to appropriate the themes of Russian-Armenian-Azerbaijani agreements at the highest level and the agenda that was proposed last year by the co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group,” said Zakharova, referring to the Brussels meeting between Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan mediated by Charles Michel.

“Issues of unblocking communications were discussed during the meeting between Ovechuk and Aliyev, which took place on April 26. An agreement was also reached with both the Armenian and Azerbaijani sides to hold the next meeting of the trilateral working group soon, co-chaired by the Deputy Prime Ministers. As for border issues, contacts are planned in Baku through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs by the end of this week,” Zakharova added.
