Everything Has Increased in Price: 7.8% Inflation Recorded

According to the "Joghovurd" newspaper, "The economic activity index of Armenia has increased by 9.6%. This is the figure for January-March of this year compared to the same period last year. At the same time, it should be noted that there has been a decline in the agricultural sector, with a drop of 5.4%. Conversely, the Statistical Committee has recorded a growth of 6.2% in the construction sector.

Additionally, the volume of trade turnover has increased by 7.6%, while the volume of industrial production has grown by 3.1%. The "Joghovurd" newspaper has learned that in the consumer market of Armenia, the Statistical Committee reported a 7.8% inflation rate over the past three months. In the recent months, everything has become more expensive in our republic, including bread, sugar, vegetables, and other essential food items.

If we look at the export volumes in the January-March period, there has been an increase of 26.9%, but the picture is grim for the last month, with a recorded decline of 12.2%, which experts consider to be very concerning. On the other hand, import volumes have increased, rising by 45.6% compared to the same period last year in January-March. However, in March, compared to February, import volumes decreased by 9.8%."
