Video: Sappers Detonate a Massive Aviation Bomb in Chernihiv

In Chernihiv, sappers have neutralized a powerful aviation bomb. The bomb did not explode when the Russians attacked a bridge connecting Kyiv and Chernihiv. This was reported by Ukrainian 24tv.ua.

Yesterday, the sapper divers investigated the bridge over the Desna River that had been destroyed by the Russians, which links Chernihiv to Kyiv. From the first days of the war, the Russians have been shelling the bridge over the Desna River to cut off Chernihiv from the capital.

“Initially, the bridge was shelled from mortars, then from howitzers, and later from aviation systems,” said Andrey Lagutin, head of the training center of the State Transport Special Service.

One of those bombs did not explode; it had been hanging from electrical poles and later fell into the river waters. The divers and sappers of the State Transport Special Service discovered the 500-kilogram bomb almost by touch and detonated it on the spot, as transporting such munitions is dangerous.
