VIDEO: Holy Fire Descends at the Tomb of the Lord in Jerusalem
The Holy Fire has been descended at the Church of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem, according to a reporter from RIA Novosti at the scene. The fire has already been received by the delegation from the St. Andrew the First-Called Foundation. It is now heading to Ben Gurion Airport before being transported to Russia.
The Holy Fire symbolizes the glorious light of the Resurrection of Christ and is considered a holy relic by believers. Its arrival on the eve of Orthodox Easter, despite the regularity, is referred to as a miracle.
A special flight from "Vnukovo-3" will bring the fire for the Easter liturgy and will be delivered to 15 churches in Moscow and five nearby suburban churches, allowing everyone to light their candles during Bright Week. Additionally, the fire will be transported to other cities such as St. Petersburg, Siberia, and the Far East.
