A terror attack has been prevented in Crimea. A supporter of the Islamic State group was preparing to detonate railway tracks under the direction of the leaders of the Crimean Tatar volunteer battalion 'Crimea' in Simferopol. This information was reported by RIA Novosti, citing a statement from the country's National Security Service.
According to the statement, 'A citizen of the Russian Federation, a supporter of the Islamic State group, has been arrested in Simferopol, who was preparing to blow up railway tracks on the instructions of the Crimean Tatar 'Crimea' Islamic volunteer battalion leaders participating in combat operations against the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in Ukraine.'
It is noted that three kilograms of homemade explosives, two electric detonators, extremist literature, a flag of the 'Crimea' battalion, and propaganda flyers were seized from the terrorist's home.
A criminal case has been initiated regarding the preparation of a terrorist act and the illegal possession of explosive devices.
